Bristol-based Gordena Care Ltd has become the first care home provider in the UK to invest in, and reap the benefits of, an innovative new Time and Attendance (T&A) system.

Gordena Care, which provides residential care for adults with learning difficulties and mental health in two homes across Bristol, purchased its first uAttend system in December and now use cloud-based technology to monitor the attendance of its team. Since then the company says that time savings from not having to check hours or rates of pay, or deal with payment queries, and financial savings from reduced overpayments, have led to its investment in a uAttend system for its second home.

Line Manager Daniel Howick explains:  “We employ sixteen part-time and full-time staff on a 24/7 basis across two different properties. Our former T&A system enabled time to be logged, but we still had to go through the hours manually and check the various rates of pay, which was a time-consuming exercise, and still allowed for overpayment or underpayment."
