uAttend takes care of managing Time and Attendance for Gordena

Bristol-based Gordena Care Ltd has become the first care home provider in the UK to invest in, and reap the benefits of, an innovative new Time and Attendance (T&A) system.

uAttend can help you streamline your time and attendance recording so that you can easily provide information for your payroll system and meet the needs of the new RTI regulations!

uAttend in use at the care home Gordena Care Home BristolGordena Care, which provides residential care for adults with learning difficulties and mental health in two homes across Bristol, purchased its first uAttend system in December and now use cloud-based technology to monitor the attendance of its team. Since then the company says that time savings from not having to check hours or rates of pay, or deal with payment queries, and financial savings from reduced overpayments, have led to its investment in a uAttend system for its second home.

Line Manager Daniel Howick explains:  “We employ sixteen part-time and full-time staff on a 24/7 basis across two different properties. Our former T&A system enabled time to be logged, but we still had to go through the hours manually and check the various rates of pay, which was a time-consuming exercise, and still allowed for overpayment or underpayment."

uAttend Gordena Care Home“We chose a uAttend system with fingerprint recognition for maximum security and accuracy. Initially we were a little dubious about whether the affordability of the system meant that it would work effectively, but we’ve been highly impressed.  Now, when staff log in and out, the data is stored to a secure website.  This means we can simply log in, whether we are in or out of the office, to see who’s on duty, to run reports or to manage the payroll."

“Managing hours used to take several hours a week and was a big headache. Thanks to uAttend we’ve eliminated human error, saved ourselves money and managing wages has become stress-free, as we simply forward reports to our accounts department.  We also have complete support from uAttend and help is always available. We were initially concerned about installation being a nightmare but uAttend was set-up and uploaded in around 30 minutes.  We are now recommending the system to other care homes.”

uAttend is the first web-based system for micro and SME businesses who need to monitor Time and Attendance of workers, whether they are working on site or remotely.
uAttend Gordena Care HomeThe system enables employees to clock in and out from a phone, app, web-browser or time-clock - or all four - and enables Time and Attendance to be managed from anywhere at any time at a low monthly cost.

uAttend is available online from www.uAttend.co.uk and works across a vast range of sectors and with large and small businesses and organisations.

“Gordena Care is one example of how businesses have been struggling along with T&A systems that were not designed for small business needs.” explains uAttend UK Director Alastair Slade.  “The market was crying out for an affordable, simple to install and operate system, which would allow flexibility in enabling employees and sub-contractors to clock in and out, and for managers to access data remotely when required, and uAttend has been developed to meet that need.

uAttend Gordena Care Home“There are many electronic systems out there, but before uAttend they all needed a computer or their own T&A software. The uAttend system is proving ideal for micro and small businesses, saving managers a vast amount of time and reducing payroll costs.  Typically employers will yield savings of at least 2 per cent of payroll when a T&A system has been implemented.”

Unlike other Time and Attendance systems on the market, uAttend has no software to install, no clock cards to buy and no long contracts to commit to.  There is simply a monthly fee to pay which starts at just £14.99 per month for up to nine employees and goes up to £79.99 per month for companies with more than 100 employees.  The only other cost is a uAttend terminal which costs from £119 for a plug-and-play version; Wi-Fi and fingerprint versions are also available.
